Dark Report 2024, which analyzes air quality and related policies in Turkey, was published on September 26. This is the sixth report published by The Right to Clean Air Platform (THHP) annually.

Key findings of Dark Report 2024:
* In 2022, Turkey derived 82.8% of its total energy from fossil fuels. Air pollution is one of the most important environmental costs of dependence on fossil fuels.
* At least 92% of Turkey’s population breathes polluted air compared to the air quality guidelines of the World Health Organization.
* 68,440 deaths could have been avoided if fine particulate matter PM2.5 levels in Turkey had been reduced to the WHO guideline value (5 µg/m3) in 2022.
